Thank You to the Inventor of GPS

We have lived in San Diego for 10 years, but I am not familiar driving in the downtown area since there are too many one way streets. There have been a number of times I have called Jimboy at work in a panic since I could not get back to the freeway. During those times, I thanked the inventor of the wireless phone.

My son's school does not have a school bus. Whenever they have a field trip, parents volunteer their vehicles and their time. Today was one of those days where I was picked to drive Jason and a few of his friends to the Supreme Court of San Diego. I borrowed Jimboy's GPS and having it took away the fear of being lost, and the uncertainty of being in unfamiliar territory. It was very comforting having "Joann" talk to me 2 miles before taking an exit and reminding me .5 miles before I needed to turn. Yes, Jason actually named the GPS in honor of someone who took him on a tour of Davao City unintentionally :-) I must remind myself to let her know that Davao is now in Google Maps Philippines.

I felt very proud of myself, and independent. Now if only someone can invent a GPS for life.
