I really enjoy watching "Brothers & Sisters" despite the fact that it airs at 10:00pm. It is one of the few that I would delay a precious hour of sleep for. Sally Fields' character, Norah Walker reminds me a lot of my mother in terms of her being loving, her willingness to push her own needs aside for her family, her charitable works, and yes, sometimes her being slightly overbearing. Both of their intentions are always good though.The similarity to my family ends there. I have four siblings, no brothers in the mix, and no other half-brother or half-sister to my knowledge !-) I enjoy the close relationships portrayed by the characters and the fact that they sometimes have no boundaries which can be very frustrating to those married to them. There is always some sort of drama which can be very tiring when it happens in real life but when it is part of the show it keeps me, the viewer, interested.
One of my favorite TV actors is in the show. I have always considered Rob Lowe to be "eye candy". His character is not always likeable since he plays an ambitious young politician who puts his career first. I used to be sorry for his wife, Kitty Walker, and thought it would serve him right if she left him. However, based on last night's episode, I can see where the plot is heading. She is starting to fall for a widower whom she meets at the playground on a regular basis. I am starting to get annoyed specially since he is not as good looking as Rob Lowe. What in the world does she think she is doing? Does she not have the good sense to realize that she is courting trouble? Why is she not talking to Robert who is now making an effort? She is courting danger and putting her marriage in harm's way. I want to hit her on the head so she sees some sense and realizes that she needs to get out of temptation's way.
Whenever I watch a television series or a movie, I always have a feel for the plot. I mean how many ways can it go? The main characters either end up back together or they kill each other. In fact, I always second guess what the next episode brings. Sometimes the ending is not quite the way I want it to be, but I am not the scriptwriter. So there.
oh, nora walker fills my week. janet de lira and i are so into brothers and sisters that we text each other if naa nay bag-ong upload sa internet. the episodes that they are showing on tv are the old ones and since we can't wait for what happens next, we go gaga over updates. amo nalang kaha pangutan-on ang scriptwriter sa? but then again, we need to feed our otherwise boring nights. hehehe
