Too Many Hands in the Pot

There are days when I truly understand why there are dictators in this world. When you open up a project for discussion, there is just too much feedback, too many requests. A lot of times, it comes from people who do not look at the larger picture, they look at it plainly just from thier own point of view or as they say, "What's in it for me?" It is never intentional though. I have found time and time again that sometimes it is due in part to a lack of knowledge. They do not have the experience necessary to make the decision which benefits everyone. It is just painful to have to explain each step of the way, and the reasons why things are done a certain way.

People have to realize that they cannot get everything they want. It is not possible to please all of the people all of the time. The hardest part is when they do not actually know what they want so they continually change their minds. It is difficult to work with them and as a result, my time gets wasted. It is just so much easier to say, "here it is, deal with it." Of course it does not work that way in the real world.

There is sometimes a rush to do things without considering the actual work or costs involved. It is even worse when I do not get the necessary tools I need to make it happen. Then there are those who are great at delegating.....to me. It bothers me when there is an assumption that "Lourdes will take care of it." Unfortunately, I am a pushover, I do not know how to say no to additional work. I also hate to see things not done right so I do have a tendency to take over. I should learn to stop doing that.
