For the Cheering Parents

For every parent who spends countless hours cheering for their child's sports team, I am bringing up what I think is a valid point. Why are school teams pitted against each other by age and not by physical attributes? Jason had a game last Thursday night versus St. Michael's of Poway and even before the game started, I knew with a sinking heart that they probably did not stand a chance. Now of course I did not say that out loud.

In the attached video, do you see the height of that boy (12) during the jumble? The star player of the Sacred Heart team was up against him, and was probably half a foot shorter. Yes, I have heard countless times the story of David versus Goliath but I was not throwing stones at the other team, not literally that is.

So here we go again, leaving for another game on a Saturday afternoon. I hope they have short boys in the opposing team :-)
