In retrospect, it was quite funny. My son said I was yelling the following words at the phone in an effort to trick it into routing me to an actual human being.
* YES
* CONTINUE
* PERSON
* SERVICE
* SUPPORT
* HUMAN BEING
* I HATE THIS PHONE
I finally got a live person on the other end. I am not sure how I did that since I am sure that the next time I ever have to call back, I will have to go through the whole process again. With my luck, the customer service representative tells me that the information that I needed can be obtained from the manufacturer of the router and promptly gave me their support phone number.
I am back to yelling at the phone. This time I only had to listen to their marketing spiel while on hold for 10 minutes. It was easier to get hold of someone this time which was not too bad as this person was obviously based in India. The reason I know is because I asked. Between her accent and mine, it was a miracle we got my problem resolved. I even filled in a great customer satisfaction survey for her just because she asked.
