Error Messages

What would happen if this message "User error- Replace user" actually existed? I am sure that majority of us would get it, and even though half would rather die than admit it, the message would be probably be accurate. I automatically think of computer errors when I see this message but it would certainly apply to many other skills and certainly many other situations.

Let me count the ways. If my oven gave out electronic warnings it would say the same thing. While I have never actually burnt dinner, the countless times that dinner has been left uneaten is sufficient proof. Unfortunately, it is not limited to the oven but also to the stove top. My skills are limited to one skillet which is why I love my George Foreman grill.

My car does give electronic messages but it thankfully does not include the above. Not that I have ever needed it except that one time I scratched the bumper while backing up. Also that other time I backed up into a pick-up truck backing up at the same time. On second thought, I probably need it everytime I try to parallel park.

In the past, I have been quick to blame my Nordictrack treadmill for my inability to exercise on a regular basis. I could never quite get the hang of walking on it so I hated it. The same applied to my stepper, and almost every other piece of exercise equipment I have owned, of which there have been many. In retrospect, it was probably not because they were poorly designed.

Going back to computers, I am sure you have heard about the one who deleted the file win.exe because she never used it or the one who claimed that her computer was broken because it was not plugged in. This error message "PEBKAC - Problem Exists Between Keyboard and Chair" would then be more appropriate.
