The Importance of Good Neighbors

When I arrived home from work today, I could smell what I thought was gas in the garage. Since I had closed the garage door before I switched off the car engine, I thought it came from the car and it would dissipate soon. I began to get alarmed however, when I smelled it inside the house. I checked the oven, opened the windows but the smell was still very prevalent. I simply could not figure where it was coming from. I am now imagining the house going up in flames when I attempt to make dinner.

I tried reaching Jimboy at work but he was not picking up, probably busy with a patient. I left him a voice mail and now called our next-door neighbors, Rodney and Jolly. They were not picking up either since it was still early in the afternoon. I tried ringing the doorbell of our other neighbor and was very relieved that they opened the door. They all trooped inside my home to check out the smell, reassured me that it was not gas, and taught me where the shut-off valves were just in case. Shortly thereafter, Jolly returned my call in response to my message. The other neighbors also called a few minutes later to make sure that I was fine.

Jimboy called and was laughing at the whole incident since he actually just sprayed silicon on all of our windows and doors - malay ko ba? I, of course, was not amused.
