How A Non-Cook Makes Do

Most of our meals are take-out, we are regulars at the Filipino turo-turo, the Chinese restaurant, the pizza place, KFC, burger joints, among others. However, I can make Roasted Chicken & Linguini with mozzarella and zucchini in a tomato basil sauce, and Chicken Alfredo & Fettucine with portobello mushrooms in an alfredo sauce - both in 10 minutes flat!

There are people who can cook, and bake. I am not one of those. Thanks to the magic of frozen complete skillet meals where all of the ingredients are pre-packaged, all I have to do is put them together in a skillet, and voila! I am not a fan of microwaveable meals but I do love anything wherein I feel like I am actually cooking, by putting ingredients in a crock pot. My favorite kitchen appliance is the George Foreman grill.

The picture above is not impressive, it is my first attempt at making puff pastry, not from scratch mind you, but from pre-packaged shells which took 25 minutes to bake in the oven. All I had to do in this case was make the filling and top it with strawberries and melted chocolate. Now that is what I consider home made!
