The Plot Thickens

I have been following "Tayong Dalawa" for the past few months. I am amazed at the twists and turns and even more amazed that I am still watching it. I am outlining it so it makes sense to me.

1. Navy guy with pregnant girlfriend befriends a bargirl. Gets drunk one night, marries her in a "mock" ceremony and gets her pregnant as well. Leaves shortly for a tour and is unaware of her condition. Ends up marrying his girlfriend.

2. Years later his two sons (both named David Garcia Jr.) meet and become good friends. At this point, they do not know they are brothers. Both apply to PMA and become "boks". The truth comes out eventually and the JR, the "poor son" gets accepted after a DNA test.

3. Both fall for the same girl and trouble starts.

4. The father gets killed by the boss of JR's "bad brother" who gets involved with the wrong kind.

5. Dave, the other son, gets left behind for dead during a military operation. Long period of guilt for JR who was piloting the chopper and did not turn back for him. Dave spends a long time with captors and gets tortured. During this time, JR and the girl find true and everlasting love. So much for guilt.

6. Dave comes back from the dead, rescued by JR, with serious psychological problems. They do not tell him about JR and the girl's relationship. In fact, the girl agrees to pretend to want to marry him.

7. They find out that Dave is not just JR's brother but his twin. He was sold due to poverty. The "real" mother tries everything in her power to get him to love her, including asking her other son to give up the girl.

8. All this time, the respective mothers and grandmothers are at each others throats; including but not limited to, running each other down with cars, contracting killers, and extreme shouting matches. Turns out the mock ceremony on board the ship was actually legal.

9. Dave finds out about JR and his one true love, and becomes even more insane.

10. JR is shot by another girl who loves him, who happens to be his childhood friend, who happens to have sold her virginity to Dave to raise money for him in the past. This girl also happens to be the love of his gun-running brother.

11. JR is on life support with both kidneys damaged. The "bad brother" was a donor match except that he was rejected due to asthma - I think this will turn out to be an important point.

12. Dave will give him one of his kidneys but is using it as leverage to get the girl of their dreams to marry him first before the operation. The girl protests vehemently but eventually caves in to save the love of her life.

Did I miss out on anything? It is ending soon. I think the bad brother (who has moments of pure brotherly love) will get shot, and will end up being the one to save JR. Maybe Dave has a change of heart and gives up the girl. One never knows, that is the beauty of a soap, they get you so confused that you swallow anything they throw at you !-)
