Personality Test

On my first job interview, one of the first things I had to do was take a personality test. I apparently answered correctly because I was eventually hired. This was for a job for which the the major qualification was good customer service skills. More than 20 years later, if I had to retake it, I would not probably pass since I am less patient and set in my ways.

I was going through the notes section on Facebook and saw the following link. Curious, I clicked on it and took the personality test to see if I "knew" myself. I am sharing the results with my comments/rebuttal :-)

Your view on yourself: You are down-to-earth and people like you because you are so straightforward. (Some say too straighforward. I tell it like it is, which is not entirely welcome at all times). You are an efficient problem solver because you will listen to both sides of an argument before making a decision that usually appeals to both parties. (I like to think that I can disassociate myself from the people involved and just look at the facts).

The type of girlfriend/boyfriend you are looking for: You are a true romantic. When you are in love, you will do anything and everything to keep your love true. (Not so sure about the romantic aspect)

Your readiness to commit to a relationship: You are ready to commit as soon as you meet the right person. And you believe you will pretty much know as soon as you meet that person. (This was true almost 17 years ago).

The seriousness of your love: You like to flirt and behave seductively. The opposite sex finds this very attractive, and that's why you'll always have admirers hanging off your arms. But how serious are you about choosing someone to be in a relationship with? (I don't know what in my answers indicated the above)

Your views on education: Education is less important than the real world out there, away from the classroom. Deep inside you want to start working, earning money and living on your own. (Jason, if you are reading this, education is very, very important!)

The right job for you: You have plenty of dream jobs but have little chance of doing any of them if you don't focus on something in particular. You need to choose something and go for it to be happy and achieve success. (I still do not know what I want to be when I grow up)

How do you view success: You are afraid of failure and scared to have a go at the career you would like to have in case you don't succeed. Don't give up when you haven't yet even started! Be courageous. (I do not equate success with a career)

What are you most afraid of: You are concerned about your image and the way others see you. This means that you try very hard to be accepted by other people. It's time for you to believe in who you are, not what you wear. (Unfortunately, I do like nice clothes, shoes, and purses but not because I want to be accepted by other people)

Who is your true self: You are mature, reasonable, honest and give good advice. People ask for your comments on all sorts of different issues. Sometimes you might find yourself in a dilemma when trapped with a problem, which your heart rather than your head needs to solve. (I am sure everyone has noticed that I do comment a lot and I give unsolicited advice. I like using my head)

Conclusion: Like everything else, it is a hit or miss.
